This is an ad campaign I created to go with my R-Bar package design. First I started with the fruit illustrations. These are done with watercolor and graphite. In each of these compositions, I wanted to show the whole fruit and a slice of the fruit too.
Next I hand-lettered the nutrients that belong to each fruit. The main message of these ads is to get a bar that gives back what your body needs after a workout. The overlay of the nutrients helps to illustrate the main headline and I kept the lettering very rough and imperfect to go along with the overall illustration style to the ads. I also wanted the R-Bar to come off as a natural and healthy bar option, so I used a paper bag texture in the background and kept the colors warm and inviting. The last step was to hand-letter the main headline and I kept this very loose as well.
